Liquid Chick's getting Stoked on Stoked Vodka

The Stoked Vodka Brand is a hemp infused Vodka made by Good Friends  Brenda Magnusson and Stephanie Cooney. They wanted to start a new business and include hemp within a new product mainly for the health benefits associated with the weed. What first began as an experiment putting liquid hemp mixed into vodka, soon materialized into their very own unique Brand.

Within a few months the Liquid Chicks had their Stoked Vodka in over 200 liquor stores across Alberta and another 100 liquor store's in British Columbia.  Within the first year of operation they quadrupled their sales expectations and selling over 2000 cases.

By the time Brenda and Stephanie made their way onto The Dragons Den, sales totaled over 25,000 bottles of Stoked Vodka bringing in $200,000.00 in revenue. The cost of a bottle of Stoked Vodka runs around $30 which is a medium price for a good bottle. Profit margins are $3 per bottle sold which is a little low, but could be approved upon with a larger manufacturing deal.

The Liquid Chicks were seeking a $150,000.00 investment for a 25% stake in the Stoked Vodka Business. If your trying to sell a New vodka Brand then you might as well throw a party, right? That's exactly what Liquid Chicks did as they handed out Liquor to all the Dragons in hopes of loosening up their wallets a bit.

During the presentation they also go into the Benefits of Hemp. No this is not Marijuana and there is no THC inside a bottle of Stoked, even though the leaf on the logo might lead you to believe otherwise. Instead Hemp is proven to be good for your Heart, Hair and Skin when consumed. It's also a good remedy for hangover's which makes this Vodka so unique, especially the day after.

But getting Stoked on a bottle of Vodka with a marijuana leaf on it would have this liquor flying off these shelves for their niche market. Most of the Dragons agree it's a great marketing plan that has proven it can and will sell in volume. But the association with hemp (or the perception of marijuana) has a few of the Dragons dropping out as expected.

What wasn't expected was having Jim Treliving interested in anything hemp. Jim makes an offer with Bruce Croxon for the $150,000.00 but they want 50% of the Stoked Vodka Business and a 5% royalty added on entire they recoup their entire investment. With the only offer on the table, Brenda and Stephanie gladly take the offer.

Stoked Vodka Update:

As happy as Brenda Magnusson and Stephanie Cooney were after the left The Dragons Den, unfortunately it was short lived. During the due diligence phase Trevling was having doubt's about such low margins on the Vodkas price. In the end they walked away without a deal with any of the Dragons.

Hemp infused Vodka on Dragons DenThe good news is they still own 100% of the company. The audience loved this idea and bottles of Stoked started flying off the shelves in record numbers helping raise the needed capital to take it to the next level. They are now in the process of breaking into the U.S. market that has higher margins and much easier to get approved selling a new liquor brand in the States.
